BUILDING ON A TRADITION
The tradition began as Ed and Louise Ritchie raised their family of four boys in Westwood, CA. While the boys were keenly
interested in all the youth sports activities, their strong-willed father taught them the skills needed for home building, to work hard and to take pride in their work.
In 1986, the family moved to Chico
where the tradition of Ritchie Homes, a family-owned home building corporation, began. Ed started in developing his new communities and the family was there to help and support him. In time, each son developed his
forte in the trades that became valuable to the family team.
Due to the untimely death of Ed Ritchie in 1995, the family was left overnight with a thriving business and a tradition to carry on. The family
“regrouped” and made the commitment to continue with Ritchie Homes.
Now, Ritchie Homes is successfully moving forward in the new millennium to “Build On The Tradition” that began many years ago. Since
Ed’s death, they have completed Terra Mesa, E. W. Heights, Stratford Estates I and II, and Autumn Park. Here, in these communities in Chico, you will find the same standards of excellence that Ed believed in. Their
commitment to excellence is to assure the buyer a home of which to be proud. Building on a tradition is truly the foundation of Ritchie Homes.
